§ Budgerigars

I find budgies very enjoyable and rewarding. You never know what colour you are going to get - we have been fortunate enough to have bred most colours.

Breeding
Our budgies are bred in cabinets 600 x 400mm in our walkways to our suspended cages.  We breed them from March until the end of October.  Our nest boxes have hollows or scallops cut out of them some of them and have a 3mm ply inserted with a hole cut out. In my opinion they are all as good as each other. We don't use any nesting material because the budgies throw it out!

Feeding
They are fed a seed mix with plenty of shell grit, calcium, endive and celery.  When they have young we feed them egg and biscuit, multigrain bread and sprouted mix.
