§ Rainbow Lorikeets

These are one of the prettiest birds and are full of character.  We house them in suspended aviaries either 1800mm long by 600mm wide or 2400mm long by 900mm wide and both are 900mm high.

Orders for hand reared rainbow lorikeets starting from $125 can be made by contacting us and that way we can guarantee you a lovely bird.
 

Breeding
We breed normals, grey-green, cinnamon (dilute), normal split cinnamon, grey-green split cinnamon, mustards (grey-green dilute), jade, lutinos and split lutino cocks.

I mainly use a straight up and down box 300mm high by 200mm square.  If they break eggs I use a lay down box 400mm long by 200mm square.

I spray the box with coopex and mix peat moss and pine shavings together for nesting material.

Feeding
They have dry mix all the time, wet mix 6 days a week.  I give each pair 125mls of wet mix as thick as milk.  They get fruit and vegies cut up three times a week.  Celery corn endive and fresh water every day.
